Do you want your students to demonstrate their understanding of class content in innovative ways? In order to encourage our students to think creatively and take academic risks, we must do the same. In this session, we will discuss ways to lay the groundwork for a classroom culture of creativity, and techniques for designing assignments based on class content. We will share methods of feedback that encourage students to improve upon their creations via an iterative process, and we’ll consider content-focused approaches to grading projects based on the students' understanding of the material and ability to explain their creative choices.
